A Comic Walks In

"Franklin's stand-up act is one of the best...Franklin happily jabs anything remotely PC, even though he's clearly a sensitive modern man underneath his cynical comedian's skin. “It’s just that you can find such easy targets in the whole political correctness arena,” Franklin says. “There’s so much hypocrisy, it's almost too easy.”

The Baltimore sun goes after me...and loses!

WBAL-AM talk-radio host Chip Franklin, who frequently comments on state government - and whose show often provides a friendly forum for Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. - has been paid more than $30,000 in the past three years to appear in commercials for the Maryland Lottery.

BUT-The Sun blew it.The Sun story implied that there was some quid pro quo agreement between Chip and the Governor. When called for a statement, the Sun was informed that Franklin was originally hired to act in those commercials by an ad agency, not the Governor. And the story fell completely apart when the Sun was informed Chip got the acting job while the "previous" Governor was in office, an administration Chip had criticized repeatedly. The Sun included this fact 3/4 of the way through their story. OOOPS!
